Theatre summer camp at Najjar Academy is more than just fun and games, it's a powerful tool for personal growth. Through acting, movement, voice, and storytelling, kids develop self-confidence, creativity, empathy, and teamwork.
Each week offers a new theme that encourages them to express themselves, explore emotions, and build valuable communication skills in a playful and supportive environment.
It’s a space where every child gets to shine, be heard, and discover the joy of performance.

The summer camp is split into two daily sessions.
Session 1 - with Rana Najjar will focus on Public Speaking and Storytelling Monday to Thursday from 9 to 10:30 AM.
Session 2 - with Lama Najjar will focus on Acting Skills Monday to Thursday from 11:00 AM to 1 PM.
Fridays will be for final rehearsals before the small performance to parents.
The schedule is as follows:
8:30 AM Arrivals
9:00 AM session 1 (90 minutes)
10:30 AM Break for Snack (30 minutes)
11:00 AM session 2 (120 minutes)
1 PM (end of class and parents pickup)
Theme: Introduction to Theatre & Stage Presence

Friday Performance: Personal intro pieces and group movement exercises
Theme: Facial Expressions & Emotional Intelligence
Focus Skills: Expressing feelings, reacting honestly, reading others

Friday Performance: Emotion-based skits and “Guess the Feeling” game
Theme: Voice Training & Vocal Play
Focus Skills: Voice projection, clarity, tone, storytelling
Activities:
Friday Performance: Group performance and silly voice storytelling
Theme: Story Structure & Expressing Ideas Clearly
Focus Skills: Organizing thoughts, storytelling structure, creative thinking
Activities:
Goal: Help children structure their ideas, understand how stories are built, and express themselves clearly and creatively.
Friday Performance: stories written and told by the kids.
Theme: Improvisation & Quick Thinking
Focus Skills: Creativity, spontaneity, active listening
Activities:
Friday Performance: Improv jam with audience suggestions
Theme: Speak Up & Be Heard
Focus Skills: Confidence, clarity, presence

Mini solo presentations – each child shares a short speech or story on stage

From an early age, Lama was immersed in the world of theater and television, laying the foundation for a lifelong career in the performing arts. After earning a degree in Political Science from the American University of Beirut, she pursued her passion for drama at the University of California, Irvine. Her career includes acting in television series, most notably Ahla Biout Ras Beirut, and working as an assistant director on various productions. Lama also brings over 15 years of experience in advertising as an English copywriter, refining her skills in communication and creativity. In addition to her professional work in both fields, Lama has taught drama at Brumana High School, specializing in IB and A Level Drama, for over a decade, and has led various drama courses in other educational settings. Drawing on her background in both creative industries and education, she will be offering a diverse range of workshops designed to inspire and foster creative growth in both teens and adults.
Rana, graduate of LAU (Class of 2000), holds a BA with honors in Communication Arts, specializing in theatre. Her early career saw her on stage and screen, acting in several series and directing five plays, before her passion for creativity led her to the dynamic world of advertising in 2007. After 11 years in Beirut agencies and 7 years in Dubai, Rana has become a leader in the industry, earning over 70 prestigious awards, including several Cannes Lions and New York Festival accolades. As an expert in copywriting, storytelling, and public speaking, she has shared her insights and expertise through numerous workshops and talks, inspiring audiences and shaping the next generation of creative talent.
